Florida Peacock Bass Fishing
Tim's nice 3 lb. Butterfly Peacock Bass Peacock bass fishing has been somewhat slow because of this very cold weather lately. We've noticed that there have been quite a few followers chasing lures but very few takers. Just the sight of these peacock bass means they've endured another harsh South Florida winter so far. These fish can't take a whole lot more of these cold nights. As soon as the weather warms up so will the fishing in the canals of South Florida. Butterfly Peacock Bass need and love very warm water to entice their metabolism. Call us for information on how you can experience the only fishery in the U.S. that contains these beautiful fighting fish.

Everglades Bass Fishing

Florida Everglades Bass Fishing It's been great bass fishing in the Florida Everglades over the last few weeks catching as many as 100 largemouth but mostly on the small side. Our water levels have dropped which means fantastic bass fishing from now until late summer. The water temperature is still cold and as it warms up a little the fishing will become red hot. Here's an example of what can be caught on a regular basis in the South Florida Everglades. We caught this nice 7 lb. largemouth on Wednesday January 12, 2011 off of alligator alley on a plastic worm.

Everglades Largemouth Bass Fishing
Everglades 5 lb. Bass  Now that the weather has warmed up some the bass fishing in the Florida Everglades should heat up quickly. The female bass are feeding and getting blump and ready to lay eggs during the next moon phase. Plenty of male buck bass in the 1 to 3 pound range have been biting very well with catches of 40 to 60 a day depending on how long you fish. We're using mostly plastic worm type baits on our trips and soon the topwater bite will be on. We are waiting for more stable weather and water patterns to improve the big fish bite.

Tim001.jpg The bass fishing in the Florida Everglades over the last few weeks has been great. Each time out we've been boating between 30 to 50 largemouth bass up to about 3 lbs. with a few bigger ones missed. Each passing day will see improvement on numbers and size as water levels continue to drop. The spring time spawn will be fantastic I'm sure. The South Florida Everglades is probably the best numbers bass fishery anywhere in North America.
